Allie’s years of work in the nonprofit sector center around digital media and event planning, bringing a solid foundation in content creation and project management to her role at P&G. Whether it’s managing bloggers and editorial content, working with national authors and dignitaries or coordinating events with thousands of participants across the state, she brings professionalism and polish to each and every project she manages.
As the former communications and digital content coordinator at the Michigan Fitness Foundation, Allie coordinated communications for various state agencies while also planning and promoting statewide events. There she developed and distributed key messaging to promote health and wellness initiatives throughout Michigan.
Allie also served as the PR/digital content coordinator for three years at Capital Area District Libraries. There she managed a team of bloggers to develop and maintain editorial content for the library’s website and publications. She also assisted in event planning and program promotions, coordinating with the thirteen branches throughout Ingham County.
A graduate of Central Michigan University, Allie has a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts with a major in Integrative Public Relations, minoring in both political science and American Sign Language.
- Allie coordinated and managed ACES Day, All Children Exercise Simultaneously, for the Michigan Fitness Foundation. In 2015, her efforts earned Michigan the honor of being the number one state in the nation for event participation, with more than 400,000 elementary and middle school students getting active at the same time.
- During her time at the library, Allie established BookSleuth, a social media-based book recommendation service to break the old, stuffy library stereotype. The program was so successful it was transformed from a monthly Facebook service to become the brand for book recommendations within all 13 branches of the library.
Allie’s passions for reading and traveling has allowed her to explore small parts of the world she only dreamed of visiting through stories. Bit by the travel bug early on, she has made a habit of exploring places she learned about in school and books. Whether it’s exploring Michigan’s historical sites and stunning landmarks or crossing the ocean to tour castles and museums, she’s always up for a road trip to somewhere new. Combine that with her love of spending time with family and friends, and she’ll plan the best family vacation you’ve ever experienced.
Allie currently serves on the PACE Committee of the Central Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, helping to organize the annual PACE Awards which honors and recognizes public relations practitioners and their work throughout the region. Allie is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador in Lansing, completing the nationwide certification program designed with the goal of turning every visitor encounter into a positive experience. As part of staying connected to what the region has to offer, Allie serves on the Admissions Development Committee at Impression 5 Science Center, using her experience and expertise to assist in promoting the hands-on science center’s mission.
