As creative strategist at Piper & Gold Public Relations, Briana works to make clients’ messages visually come to life. She specializes in producing digital graphics, printed information and brand materials and is responsible for leading P&G’s visual storytelling efforts.
Before joining the P&G team, Briana worked as graphics intern at the Michigan Health and Hospital Association where she spearheaded multiple projects distributed to hospitals statewide. Prior to her time at MHA, Briana worked as executive assistant for Dodak Johnson & Associates lobbying firm where her duties ranged from monitoring legislature to managing business expense reports.
Briana served two years as an undergraduate teaching assistant at Michigan State University, assistant teaching a total of 5 creative courses for the College of Communications Arts and Sciences centered around creative media, design form, concept and meaning and use of Adobe Creative Suite.
During her time at Michigan State University, Briana was selected as one of the few students to travel to New York and Beijing, China to compete in world-renowned design competitions. Briana recently obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in advertising with a creative concentration from Michigan State University.
Briana was selected as one of twelve American students to compete in a field of 300 in The One Club Youth Creative Workshop and Competition in Beijing, China. During the week-long competition, she partnered with students from around the globe to create an advertising campaign for a major Chinese brand. Her team earned the third place Bronze Pencil and her individual campaign was recognized with an American Advertising Federation ADDY Award.
Briana was chosen as one of fifteen students to rebrand Detroit Friends Potato Chips, an urban farming operation, and develop new packaging designs for their products to be featured on Oprah Winfrey’s Favorite Things list for December 2016. Briana’s work won an American Advertising Federation ADDY Award in packaging design.
With a love for all things artsy, Briana dedicates most of her free time to painting, graphic designing and searching Pinterest for unique projects to craft. She has a passion for learning new artistic methods, using new mediums and challenging herself to explore creativity outside of the box. When she isn’t scavenging the art store for supplies, Briana is geeking out over the latest gadgets and tech trends. Whether she’s hunting Pokemon or teaching herself HTML5 web coding, she always finds a way to keep up with the tech gurus.
Briana is president of the Mid-Michigan Creative Alliance, an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation that brings together all creative disciplines in the Lansing area and cultivates relationships with future creative talent. Briana is also a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts West Michigan Chapter where she attends workshops and panel discussions improving her knowledge of the arts. She also serves on Grand River Connection’s board as communications and media chair, working to promote the organization’s events through social media and the monthly newsletter.
