Director of Client Solutions:

As the Director of Client Solutions at Piper & Gold, you will spearhead the creation and execution of comprehensive PR strategies for our diverse portfolio of clients. This role demands a visionary leader who can oversee a team of dedicated account directors, ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service and the achievement of strategic communication objectives.

Responsibilities include:
  • Account Director Oversight: Provide strategic oversight to agency account directors, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction through consistently delivering high-quality service and driving measurable results.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen client relationships through supporting account directors and leading client solutions. Assume the role of an account director for prominent client accounts, fostering trust and strong communication.
    ​Manage client expectations by:
    • Creating and maintaining a clear scope of work.
    • Articulating comprehensive strategies and deliverables.
    • Aligning budgets and campaign/project phases with all stakeholders.
    • Reset misaligned expectations as necessary.
    • Ensuring clients understand the value of P&G's work.
  • Client Retention and Growth: Retain and expand client partnerships by working directly with clients and account directors in delivering value and aligning communication efforts with the organization's long-term vision and objectives.
  • Aligning Internal & Client Teams: Foster alignment between P&G’s internal teams and external client teams on shared goals, ensuring continuous focus on identified objectives and facilitating seamless collaboration.
  • Strategic Planning and Direction: Formulate data-driven strategies aligned with P&G standards and processes to implement agency-wide, continuously refining them to correspond with evolving client goals.
Salary: The salary for the Director of Client Solutions starts at $80,000 and is commensurate with experience. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or a related field. 
  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in public relations.
  • At least 3 years in a PR agency or related industry leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking, aligning communication strategies with organizational goals.
  • Proven team leadership and management skills, including client relationship experience.
  • Data-driven mindset, using metrics to refine strategies.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Industry familiarity and understanding of trends and stakeholders.
  • Professional presence and representation in various settings.
  • Proficiency in PR tools, analytics and project management.

Account Director:

As an Account Director at Piper & Gold, you will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for our valued clients. Your role will encompass strategic communications planning, campaign management and ensuring the seamless delivery of our services. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Client Account Leadership: Ensure effective management and oversight of client accounts, promptly addressing client needs and concerns, and fostering an environment of proactive problem-solving and exceptional service delivery.
  • Growth Mindset: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices, demonstrating thought leadership and innovation within the different disciplines of the PR landscape.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate enduring relationships with clients, respecting them as valued partners and gaining a deep understanding of their unique objectives and challenges. Driving strategic communications solutions that yield measurable results.
  • Strategic Campaign Oversight: Direct and oversee the development and execution of impactful PR, communications, marketing and/or advocacy campaigns, ensuring they align with our clients’ and partners' goals and industry best practices while delivering tangible and data-driven outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with our internal teams to ensure the flawless execution of projects and initiatives, fostering a culture of cooperation and shared success to deliver results that exceed expectations.
  • PREFERRED: Media Relations Speciality: Lead media relations focused client accounts through demonstrated experience and background in: pitching, working with reporters and editors, utilizing and directing the use of software tools, drafting and enhancing common media deliverables, building and maintaining relationships with reporters and editors and knowledge of outlets. Additionally:
    • Determine strategic media outcomes to reach clients’ goals and support client teams in garnering media results. 
    • Demonstrate and display the value of earned media through metrics and measurement for clients.
    • When strategically valuable, serve as a media relations subject matter expert instead of account director as a member of account teams for clients with a media relations need.
Salary: The salary for the Account Director role starts at $55,000 and is commensurate with experience. 
Qualifications for Account Director:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional public relations experience.
  • Media relations, earned media or journalistic experience preferred.
  • Agency experience preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated success in managing client relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for fostering meaningful and lasting connections
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and campaigns, ensuring timely and effective execution
  • Strong strategic thinking, aligning communication strategies with organizational goals.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners, fostering an environment of cooperation and shared success
  • Data-driven mindset, using metrics to refine strategies.
  • Industry familiarity and understanding of trends and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in PR tools, analytics and project management.

Piper & Gold is located in Lansing, Michigan’s REO Town. We strive to provide a flexible work environment and this position has been designated as remote-friendly. Remote-friendly means some or all of the duties can be performed remotely as mutually agreed upon. Because many of our clients are Michigan-based, preference will go to individuals looking for a hybrid work environment, who reside in the state of Michigan. However, we will consider a permanent remote work arrangement for the right candidate. We do not require a minimum or set days in the physical office.
