What we say

Hope’s returned. Now let’s do the work.

Nov 4, 2026

Today feels different. & the same. For more than 25 years, I’ve ridden the waves and tsunamis of elections and their impact on social justice.

Many people are walking around with a little more optimism, a heap of gratitude and a renewed sense of possibility. Some have felt this hope before. For others it’s new. For me? Damn, it still feels good.

I built Piper & Gold Public Relations on purpose. I chose social impact communications on purpose. I lead on purpose. I say what I say on purpose.

So to our team, clients, partners, and everyone who has ridden the political roller coaster for years and decades: I say thank you. Your voices matter, and so does the work you do every day to make our communities, our states and our nation stronger.

We see you today. We saw you these past years as we walked alongside you.

& let’s say the quiet part out loud: It’s been exhausting. The devastating cuts. Waking up to find entire sections of our vocabulary restricted. Being threatened with legal action for doing our jobs ethically. Bans on communications topics, tools and facts that save lives. Injustices. Harm. People erased. We felt the layoffs, the fear, the uncertainty and the anger with you. We still feel it.

Most importantly, we saw the impact on the people you serve.

This week's election results offer a reason to celebrate and a reminder of what's possible.

Hope is a feeling. Now? We move forward building trust, strengthening systems and creating meaningful change.

That’s the work.

Newly elected leaders are stepping into offices at every level, and organizations across our nation have new opportunities, expectations and challenges. This is the time to think beyond headlines. Consider: What comes next?

How will you show up for the people you serve? How will you advance your mission, protect progress and listen to the conversations shaping our communities? How will you turn this moment of momentum into action?

That’s where we are. That’s the new challenge ahead of us. That’s the promise we must uphold.

Take a moment to celebrate. We sure are at P&G. Smile a little bigger. Appreciate the people who helped make this moment possible. Be hopeful.

& then, let’s do the work.
